HR Coordinator

Trade · Tauranga Central, Bay of Plenty, New Zealand · Full-Time · $25/hr

For HR professionals ready for their next move, a respected Tauranga organisation is adding a proactive, people-focused HR Coordinator to its People & Culture team.

The scope stretches well past routine administration. You will be involved in recruitment, employee engagement, HR systems, compliance support and process improvement, partnering with leaders and employees to strengthen HR practice, lift the workplace experience and support a positive organisational culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Keep day-to-day HR operations running smoothly so people services are delivered without disruption
  • Coordinate recruitment from candidate communication and interviews through to employment documentation, then run onboarding so new starters have a positive first experience
  • Draft employment agreements, contract updates and other HR correspondence
  • Maintain accurate employee records, HR databases and confidential files
  • Support employee lifecycle changes, including transfers and exits
  • Help managers with HR queries, policies and workplace procedures
  • Assist with immigration and AEWV-related paperwork where needed
  • Organise training programs, development activities and engagement initiatives, promoting a positive workplace culture through clear communication and employee support
  • Review HR processes for efficiency and service gains, and build resources, templates and systems that meet business needs

Requirements & Eligibility

  • A relevant qualification in Human Resources, Business, Management or a related field, or equivalent HR experience
  • Prior experience as an HR Coordinator, HR Administrator, People & Culture Assistant or in a similar role, with practical knowledge of HR processes, employee documentation and workplace practices
  • Experience using HR software, databases and digital systems, and an understanding of employment compliance requirements and HR best practice
  • Previous exposure to immigration, visa or international recruitment processes is beneficial
  • Strong planning, organisation and time management, together with a problem-solving mindset and a willingness to improve processes and systems
  • Excellent communication skills and confidence engaging with every level of an organisation, plus strong relationship-building skills and a genuine interest in supporting people
  • The ability to treat sensitive information with professionalism and discretion
  • Willingness to relocate and build a long-term HR career in Tauranga, New Zealand
