Poultry Farm Manager

A commercial broiler operation in New South Wales is looking for an experienced Poultry Farm Manager to take the lead on site. The position is a genuine Australian farming role, intended for professionals whose hands-on skills, leadership and poultry industry background suit it.
You will own the full production cycle, direct a farm team and work closely with seasoned operational and technical colleagues. Established poultry site managers are welcome, as are accomplished 2ICs ready to step up, and the role provides the structure and support to grow a career in Australia.

Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the broiler production cycle in full, from placement to collection
- Direct and coordinate the farm team so daily production targets are reached
- Draw up staff rosters and assign duties sensibly
- Keep watch over bird health, welfare and growth, along with how the flock performs overall
- Control feed, water, ventilation and the environment inside the sheds
- Review production results and step in with corrective action when needed
- Run sound biosecurity procedures throughout the farm
- Ensure animal welfare and workplace health and safety standards are upheld at all times
- Organise shed preparation, cleaning and turnaround between batches
- Supervise maintenance of feeding, drinking, ventilation and generator systems
- Spot equipment or operational problems and line up the right maintenance
- Keep farm, production and compliance records accurate and up to date
- Rely on farm management systems and production data to track performance
- Partner with veterinarians, technical specialists and processor representatives, and give senior management clear updates and performance reports
- Share after-hours and on-call duties and drive continuous improvement across the farm's operations
Requirements & Eligibility
- Hands-on commercial broiler poultry experience
- A track record as a Poultry Farm Manager or an experienced 2IC
- Demonstrated capacity to lead and supervise a farm team
- A strong working grasp of poultry production and flock management
- Knowledge of how ventilation and climate-control systems operate
- Understanding of poultry biosecurity and welfare requirements
- Able to interpret production data and turn it into practical operational decisions
- Good organisation, communication and record-keeping skills
- Comfortable using computers and relevant farm management systems
- A dependable, calm manner when operational challenges arise
- A current driver’s licence
- Willingness to live on site, plus availability for an after-hours and on-call roster
- A genuine commitment to production standards, workplace safety and animal welfare
