You will own everything from seawater intake to the final stockpile, leading a team of 10+ employees and remaining accountable for efficiency, product quality, inventory and operating costs.
Key Responsibilities

- Build production plans that respond to seasonal conditions and weather forecasts, and manage the operational risks that shifting weather brings
- Lead and grow a team of 10+ employees across production and mobile plant, building capability through cross-training and multi-skilling
- Track production volumes, inventory levels and cost-per-tonne results
- Remain commercially accountable for production efficiency and operating costs
- Make sure finished salt meets the established quality specifications
- Resolve production constraints with practical solutions and serve as the main escalation point for technical and process issues
- Support capital projects and upgrades to plant and field infrastructure
- Find ways to make the operation more efficient, reliable and resilient, working alongside technical consultants and internal specialists
- Keep production and stockpile records accurate
- Contribute to the site's long-term expansion and operational improvement
Requirements & Eligibility
- Demonstrated solar salt production experience is highly desirable, and applicants whose solar salt experience was gained internationally are encouraged to apply
- Strong technical understanding of evaporation and crystallisation processes
- Qualifications in chemical engineering, chemistry or a similar technical field may be considered where relevant production experience is demonstrated
- A proven record leading production, processing or industrial operations, including managing and developing multi-skilled frontline teams
- Solid grasp of production costs, inventory control and operational KPIs, backed by demonstrated commercial awareness and operational accountability
- Able to make sound decisions in changing, weather-dependent conditions, with strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Strong leadership, communication and people-management skills, and the ability to work independently while collaborating with technical support teams
- Willing to relocate to regional Queensland and live on-site
- Able to commit to a long-term position in a growing Australian operation
