Production Team Member/Supervisor

A growing food manufacturer in East Tamaki, Auckland, is looking for a Food Production Supervisor / Operator to take charge of the production floor, keep output flowing and make sure every batch meets the required standard.
This is a hands-on position within a small team. You will be part of the whole process, from preparing ingredients and batching to running machinery, quality checks, cleaning and coordinating production. Expect to switch between supervising and working on the line as needed.
If you bring food manufacturing experience from the Gulf or elsewhere, along with the confidence to own targets, food safety, quality and team support, this could be your next move to New Zealand.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan the daily production schedule, allocate work across the team and see that manufacturing runs safely, efficiently and on time
- Weigh, measure and check ingredients precisely, then prepare batches and make products to approved recipes
- Run mixers, fillers and other food manufacturing machines, watching equipment and processes so everything runs smoothly
- Hold product quality steady, carry out quality checks and raise production issues quickly
- Make sure all food safety and Good Manufacturing Practice requirements are met, with recipe controls and production processes kept accurate
- Handle cleaning, sanitation and daily equipment washdowns, keeping production areas tidy, organised and compliant
- Track daily production targets and help lift operational efficiency
- Help train and support members of the production team
- Partner with the Production Manager to resolve operational problems and complete orders accurately and on time
- Follow every Health & Safety procedure, report hazards or issues, and pitch in across different production tasks when needed
Requirements & Eligibility
- Proven background in food manufacturing or commercial food production, including previous experience as a Production Supervisor, Team Leader, Senior Production Operator or similar
- Experience in an approved food control plan environment, with strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene and quality requirements
- Hands-on experience running food manufacturing machinery such as mixers, fillers or similar production equipment
- Able to follow recipes, measurements and manufacturing procedures precisely, with close attention to detail and product consistency
- Able to lead and support a small production team
- At ease in a hands-on production setting, working efficiently to hit daily targets
- Dependable, hardworking and physically able to handle production and cleaning duties, and willing to take on repetitive tasks and washdowns
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Quick to pick up new machinery and production systems, and committed to a clean, safe workplace
- Current forklift licence is advantageous
- Sponsorship is available for a suitably qualified overseas candidate
