Project Engineer

An established contractor delivering major Australian construction projects is looking for a capable Project Engineer to support high-rise developments in Sydney.
The opportunity rests on verified skills, qualifications and practical project experience. Candidates should be able to show a strong structural construction background, and experience in formwork, concrete structures, construction coordination and project delivery will carry particular weight.
Internationally experienced candidates are encouraged to apply, with suitable backgrounds assessed against the position's requirements. For engineers working in Dubai, Doha or Riyadh, it is a considered career step.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily engineering and construction activity on major building projects, assisting senior project staff with delivery
- Plan and track formwork and concrete structural works
- Manage subcontractors, suppliers and construction crews, and coordinate technical matters between consultants, engineers and subcontractors
- Check drawings, specifications and engineering documents
- Help with programming, sequencing and construction planning, tracking progress against schedules and key milestones
- Support contract administration, keep project records and documentation current, and prepare progress reports and project reporting
- Spot construction issues, help develop practical technical solutions and monitor quality so works meet project requirements
- Keep communication flowing between site and project stakeholders, contributing to safe, efficient and timely completion
Requirements & Eligibility
- A degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or Construction Management, plus 2–5+ years of relevant post-graduate construction experience
- Proven formwork and concrete structures experience on high-rise, commercial or large-scale building projects
- A background working for a construction subcontractor, with strong capability coordinating and managing subcontractors
- Understanding of construction programming and work sequencing, and experience in contract administration
- Good technical, communication and organisational skills
- Able to demonstrate and verify your relevant qualifications and professional experience
- Relevant overseas construction experience is welcomed
- Able to satisfy Australian employment and sponsorship requirements; sponsorship available for suitable candidates with verified and relevant experience
