Key Responsibilities
- Give every resident nursing care that is evidence-based and of a high standard
- Keep watch over residents' health, assessing them regularly and acting quickly when their condition shifts
- Handle medication rounds and clinical treatments with safety and precision
- Write, put into action and revisit individual care plans
- Guide and oversee the nursing and personal care workforce, mentoring Graduate Nurses, Enrolled Nurses and Care Workers day to day
- Liaise with families, doctors and allied health specialists
- Record clinical notes and resident files with care and accuracy
- Champion sound infection prevention and clinical governance
- Keep the facility compliant with aged care standards and professional nursing obligations
- Play an active part in quality improvement work
- Keep your skills current through ongoing education and mandatory training
Requirements & Eligibility
- A Bachelor of Nursing qualification, together with current unrestricted AHPRA Registered Nurse registration
- First Aid and CPR certificates that are current
- Experience gained in residential aged care is highly regarded
- Well-developed skills in clinical assessment and care planning
- Familiarity with Australian aged care standards and infection control practice
- Excellent leadership, teamwork and communication, plus an ethical, compassionate approach centred on residents
- A current National Police Check, or readiness to obtain one
- Up-to-date COVID-19 and influenza vaccinations as the employer requires
