Registered Teacher

Teaching in an early years setting in Dubai, Abu Dhabi or Doha and ready for a considered career step? An early learning centre in New Plymouth, Taranaki, is seeking a Qualified and Registered Early Childhood Education Teacher who truly loves working with infants.

The centre sees great infant care as something grown through trust, consistency, careful observation and genuine relationships. Applicants will be assessed on their verified skills, registration, experience and fit for the role, so your qualifications and background matter.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide warm, respectful and responsive care shaped around each infant's needs, including individual routines for care, comfort, sleep and wellbeing
  • Form secure, trusting bonds with tamariki and keep communication with whanau professional and consistent
  • Set up a safe, inviting and stimulating space and design experiences that invite infants to explore and develop
  • Watch closely for children's interests, behaviour and developmental progress, and use those observations to drive planning and intentional teaching
  • Keep learning stories, assessments, records and documentation accurate and current
  • Honour the identities, languages, cultures and backgrounds of every child, weaving culturally responsive approaches through each day
  • Model and deepen bicultural practice in line with Te Tiriti o Waitangi
  • Collaborate with colleagues to uphold high standards of education and care, taking part in team discussions, meetings, centre events and daily operations while helping keep the team positive, respectful and cooperative
  • Reflect on your teaching regularly, pinpoint areas to improve and engage in professional learning that builds a culture of continuous development

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Recognised Early Childhood Education qualification, together with a full and current New Zealand Teacher Practising Certificate
  • Relevant early childhood education experience, particularly with infants, and a strong understanding of infant learning, development and responsive caregiving
  • Genuine passion for nurturing babies and young children, with a demonstrated ability to build positive relationships with tamariki and whanau
  • Strong spoken and written communication skills and confidence across planning, assessment, observation and documentation
  • Able to show culturally responsive teaching practice and a commitment to bicultural practice and Te Tiriti o Waitangi
  • A professional, organised, calm, adaptable and reflective manner
  • Works effectively within an education team and is willing to pursue ongoing professional development
  • Applicants requiring accredited employment and visa sponsorship may be considered
  • Applicants must satisfy relevant New Zealand employment, registration and immigration requirements
