Retail manager

A busy hospitality business in Western Australia, part of a growing organisation that offers long-term career development, needs an experienced Retail Manager to run its daily operations. It is a strong opening for a motivated hospitality professional with real leadership and business management ability.

You will drive store performance, lead and develop the team, keep customer service standards high, oversee inventory and financial results, and make sure the business complies with workplace and food safety regulations.

For hospitality managers currently in Dubai, Doha or Riyadh, it is a considered next move to Perth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Run the business day to day, leading and supervising store activity
  • Track sales performance and profitability, keeping labour costs and operating expenses under control
  • Build and manage staff rosters
  • Recruit, onboard and train new starters, then coach, mentor and manage their performance
  • Keep customer service standards high, handling enquiries and resolving complaints professionally
  • Watch inventory levels, coordinate purchasing, run regular stocktakes and keep wastage low
  • Look after supplier relationships
  • Study sales reports to spot improvement opportunities, and put strategies in place to grow revenue and efficiency
  • Make sure food quality, presentation and service stay consistent
  • Uphold workplace health and safety, food safety regulations and company policies, and keep business and operational records accurate
  • Support ongoing business growth and team development

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Minimum 2 years of full-time experience as a Retail Manager, Café Manager or in a similar hospitality management role
  • Background managing a high-volume hospitality or retail operation and leading a team of 10 or more employees
  • Hands-on experience with staff rosters, labour cost management, inventory control and purchasing
  • Strong financial management and sales analysis skills, with sound judgement for problem-solving and business decisions
  • Excellent leadership, people management, communication and customer service skills
  • Experience using POS systems and Microsoft Office; experience with hospitality POS systems is an advantage
  • Knowledge of food safety and workplace health and safety requirements
  • Available to work weekends, evenings and public holidays
  • A relevant qualification in Hospitality, Business or Management is advantageous; experience opening new stores or managing multiple locations is also advantageous
  • Food Safety Supervisor Certificate desirable; First Aid Certificate also desirable
