Renewable energy is growing fast, and so is the NSW operation behind this opening. It delivers commercial and industrial projects throughout the state and is adding a motivated, practical Solar Installation Technician to the team.
Genuine hands-on ability, relevant experience and solid knowledge of safe work practices are what the employer looks for. Perhaps you already install solar; perhaps your experience is in construction and installation more broadly. Either way, the role's requirements are the yardstick for assessing what you can do. Alongside seasoned colleagues you will contribute to solar projects and keep developing technically within the sector. Key Responsibilities
- Support installation of commercial and industrial solar systems, fitting mounting structures and positioning panels while supervised by the team
- Follow drawings, manuals and installation instructions on each job
- Operate basic power tools and hand tools appropriately, and handle components, materials and equipment with care for safety
- Assist the installers every day, from getting the site prepared and set up through to the final clean-up
- Keep your area hazard-free and well organised, in line with the established procedures for workplace health and safety
- Cooperate with site personnel, supervisors and fellow installers
- Complete the tasks you are given with attention to detail and quality, and work independently when required
- Go interstate for projects whenever necessary
Requirements & Eligibility
- Relevant hands-on background in installation work, construction, solar or electrical support; prior experience installing solar is advantageous but not essential
- Capacity to demonstrate real employment experience and practical skill
- Comprehension of technical drawings, work instructions and manuals, together with sound problem-solving and practical reasoning
- Motivated, committed and reliable at work, with safety always a priority
- Works well alone or within a crew
- Willing to go interstate when required
- Australian Driver Licence, together with reliable transport and a vehicle of your own
- Construction White Card and Height Safety ticket, or a willingness to get them
- Real enthusiasm for a long-term future in the renewable energy industry
