Rope Access Technician

Key Responsibilities
- Carry out industrial rope access work on a variety of sites
- Inspect structures, buildings and façades, and support inspections of bridges and other infrastructure
- Handle industrial maintenance, inspection and repair tasks, along with waterproofing and remedial projects
- Fit, inspect and maintain height-safety systems
- Rig and check rope access gear and work-at-height systems before use
- Reach elevated, restricted and hard-to-access areas safely, judging site conditions and finding practical answers to access and work problems
- Keep project records, photographs and site paperwork accurate
- Comply with workplace safety requirements and relevant rope access standards
- Produce high-quality workmanship on every project, meeting required quality and safety standards when working on your own
- Deal professionally with clients, colleagues and supervisors
- Travel to project sites around New Zealand when required
- Take occasional overnight trips, with accommodation and applicable allowances provided
Requirements & Eligibility
- Current and valid IRATA Rope Access qualification; a New Zealand Certificate in Industrial Rope Access (Level 4) is also considered
- Minimum 2 years of verifiable practical rope access experience, including demonstrable rope access-based work in professional settings
- Able to supply evidence backing up your qualifications and relevant employment history
- Sound understanding of safe working practices at height
- Confidence working in demanding, changing site conditions, with practical problem-solving skills
- A strong sense of responsibility for quality and safety
- Able to work both independently and within a technical team
- Professional communication skills
- A current driver's licence is advantageous but not essential
- Professional-level English is advantageous but not essential
- Relevant trade qualifications or trade experience are advantageous, and further construction, inspection, industrial or height-safety training is advantageous too
- Willing to travel within New Zealand as project requirements dictate
- Able to satisfy relevant New Zealand immigration requirements where sponsorship is required
