A high-security, sensitive assignment in Queensland, Australia needs dependable Security Officers. Recruitment centres on matching employers with professionals whose identity, credentials and suitability can be properly assessed for security-sensitive settings.
The work involves keeping operations secure, protecting people and assets, managing access and responding to security concerns. A qualification alone is not enough: the role calls for professionalism, discretion, sound judgement and a strong sense of personal responsibility.
Sponsorship opportunities may be available for eligible candidates who meet the necessary employment, visa and security requirements. Those without the required security clearance at present may also be considered for support through the clearance process, subject to eligibility and applicable conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage entry to secure facilities, making sure only authorised individuals are admitted
- Patrol the site routinely, staying alert to activity and acting on suspicious behaviour or potential security concerns
- Watch for and respond to alarms, incidents and emergencies, applying sound judgement when handling incidents and escalating concerns
- Be a visible security presence that is both professional and approachable
- Communicate clearly with authorised personnel, contractors and visitors
- Apply site protocols and established security procedures consistently
- Keep reports, logs and other security records accurate, and treat sensitive information with strict confidentiality
- Help maintain a workplace that is secure, respectful and professional
Requirements & Eligibility
- Australian Citizenship may be required for security clearance eligibility, and you must be willing and eligible to undergo the required security clearance process
- Hold a current QLD Security Licence; a current security clearance is advantageous
- Successfully pass applicable identity, credential and background verification requirements
- Show high standards of honesty, integrity and accountability
- Strong communication skills, close attention to detail and a high level of situational awareness
- Stay composed and professional under pressure while following strict security and operational procedures
- Previous experience in security or another sensitive operational environment is desirable
- Meet the relevant sponsorship eligibility requirements where applicable
