Key Responsibilities
- Lead the technical direction of rolling stock projects on the electrical side, confirming that electrical requirements hold throughout delivery
- Assess technical submissions, overhaul documents and engineering designs
- Bring contractors, technical specialists and project managers together on engineering activity, and partner with suppliers, maintenance crews and operational stakeholders
- Support programs that modify, refurbish and improve the reliability of the fleet, plus continuous improvement that strengthens safety and asset reliability
- Carry out inspections, tests, commissioning and acceptance work
- Draft procedures, scopes of work, engineering specifications and technical reports
- Look into faults with equipment and come up with practical engineering answers, while keeping an eye on compliance, quality and how the project is performing
- Make complex technical detail easy to understand for a broad range of stakeholders
Requirements & Eligibility
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering
- Extensive experience in electrical engineering for rail vehicles or rolling stock, with strong knowledge of overhaul programs, upgrades and modifications to electrical systems
- Experience leading testing, commissioning and engineering investigations, and able to prepare scopes of work, engineering specifications and technical documentation
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical capability, plus strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Current unrestricted driver's licence
