The roles suit stylists with strong technical ability, assurance with clients and a genuine passion for quality hair services.
You will work across a wide range of cutting, colouring and styling within a supportive, professional team.
Key Responsibilities
- Talk through each client’s individual hair requirements before starting, and suggest haircare products and treatments that suit them
- Produce polished ladies’ and children’s haircuts, completed with professional blow waves and finished styles
- Handle global colour and regrowth work, along with foils, highlights and balayage
- Carry out toning and colour correction
- Offer smoothing services and hair treatments
- Keep technical quality and service levels high through every appointment
- Manage your appointments with confidence and little supervision, earning lasting, professional client relationships
- Share your skills with junior team members through mentoring, demonstrations, workshops and practical training where required
- Leave the salon tidy, organised and professional
- Work within salon procedures, hygiene requirements and workplace standards
Requirements & Eligibility
- A recognised hairdressing qualification equivalent to NZQF Level 4 or higher, together with a minimum 2 years of professional industry experience
- Well-developed practical skill across cutting, colouring, foiling and styling, including balayage, highlights, toning and colour correction
- At ease working on your own in a professional salon
- Strong at client consultation and communication, and excellent at customer service
- Dependable, professional and committed in your approach to work
- Available for weekend work when required
- Beauty therapy skills or previous beauty industry experience is advantageous
- Experience mentoring junior stylists or delivering practical training is advantageous
- Able to spell out the services you can perform confidently, and to disclose any where additional training or development may be required
- Willing to meet New Zealand employment and visa requirements
- Sponsorship is available for eligible overseas candidates
