Sheetmetal Tradesperson/CNC Operator

Experienced CNC Operators and sheet metal tradespeople are wanted by an established sheet metal manufacturer in Auckland, New Zealand, to bring verified practical skills to a structured production setting.
The role suits people who understand precision manufacturing, own the quality of their work and reliably hit production and quality expectations. You will have access to modern manufacturing technology, and experienced team members are encouraged to share ideas that make processes safer, more efficient and more effective.

Key Responsibilities
- Run CNC punch, laser, tube laser and press brake machines, setting up equipment for scheduled production
- Work from technical drawings and production specifications
- Measure and inspect parts at each stage of manufacture, keeping production quality accurate and consistent
- Spot production issues and deal with them where appropriate
- Follow safe operating procedures and site requirements, and keep the production area clean, tidy and organised
- Work with the production team to hit daily targets
- Use your trade knowledge to improve outcomes, proposing safer, faster and more effective methods and supporting continuous improvement
Requirements & Eligibility
- At least 2 years of hands-on CNC operation experience, including work on punch, laser, tube laser or press brake machinery; 2+ years of relevant sheet metal trades experience may also be considered
- Trumpf experience is highly desirable
- Demonstrable technical knowledge of sheet metal manufacturing, with a strong focus on precision and first-time-right workmanship
- Able to follow technical instructions and production specifications
- Committed to quality standards and workplace safety
- Works effectively in a production team and is willing to offer practical ideas for process improvement
- Available for fixed day, night or graveyard shifts
- Able to work at least 40 hours per week
