Premium custom joinery and furniture projects in Mount Kuring-Gai, Sydney, need a Spray Painter whose finishing skills are proven in practice.
Great finishing goes well beyond handling a spray gun. Surface preparation, even coatings, accurate colour matching and a flawless final appearance are at the core of this position. You will join an experienced paint team in an established production setting, on work where craftsmanship and attention to detail are essential.
If you have a strong, verifiable furniture or joinery spray painting background, perhaps built in Dubai, Sharjah or Doha, this is a considered next move worth making.
Key Responsibilities
- Sand and carefully prepare every surface before any coating goes on
- Apply polyurethane finishes, timber stains and clear protective coats to custom furniture and joinery
- Deliver even colour, coverage and surface finish from one project to the next, keeping workmanship consistently high
- Inspect completed pieces and pinpoint anything that needs correcting or improving
- Have finished items ready in line with production schedules, liaising with factory and operations staff on job requirements
- Contribute efficiently to a dedicated paint team
- Keep the spray booth clean and the workplace organised, handling finishing materials and equipment responsibly
- Follow established OH&S procedures and workshop safety requirements
Requirements & Eligibility
- Demonstrated professional experience as a Spray Painter, including hands-on work with polyurethane coatings
- A background finishing timber, furniture or custom joinery
- Strong knowledge of sanding and surface preparation, and the ability to achieve consistent professional-quality finishes
- A good eye for detail, colour and surface quality
- A reliable, punctual work ethic and good communication skills
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a small team
- Commitment to workplace safety and quality procedures
- Australian working rights preferred; own transport preferred
- Ability to prove relevant skills and experience through a practical trial
