Stylist

Trade · Whanganui Central, Manawatu, New Zealand · Full-Time · $25/hr

Experienced Hair Stylists working in salons in Dubai, Abu Dhabi or Doha may find a rewarding next move in New Zealand. This role is for stylists whose practical skill, client experience and professional background can be clearly shown, rather than simply listed on a CV.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver professional cutting, styling and colour services tailored to what each client wants
  • Consult with clients to understand their needs and recommend suitable options
  • Produce consistent, high-quality results across every service and take ownership of the finished work
  • Build relationships with new and returning clients, growing and keeping a loyal personal clientele
  • Keep your appointment book organised and productive
  • Create a welcoming, professional experience for every visitor
  • Uphold salon hygiene, presentation and workplace standards
  • Collaborate with fellow stylists and salon staff, sharing knowledge and supporting a positive team atmosphere
  • Take part in training and hair education to stay current on techniques, products and industry trends

Requirements & Eligibility

  • At least 3 years of hands-on professional cutting and colouring experience, with the confidence to deliver these services professionally
  • NZ Level 4 Hairdressing Certificate or an equivalent qualification recognised internationally
  • Where formal qualifications differ, candidates with relevant experience may be considered
  • Practical hairdressing ability you can demonstrate, backed by genuine work experience
  • Strong consultation and interpersonal skills, with the ability to earn trust and keep long-term client relationships
  • A professional approach to customer service and workplace responsibilities, and the ability to work well within a team
  • Willing to pursue ongoing technical and professional development
  • Able to provide genuine evidence supporting your qualifications and previous employment
  • Applicants must meet the relevant requirements for sponsored employment in New Zealand; sponsorship is available for eligible candidates
