Key Responsibilities
- Deliver compassionate, reliable, person-centred care across community, residential and healthcare environments while upholding professional standards
- Help individuals with daily living activities, community participation and the personal goals that keep their lifestyles meaningful
- Work alongside people living with disabilities, mental health needs and complex care requirements, promoting their independence, dignity, wellbeing and inclusion
- Respond calmly and professionally in challenging situations and where behavioural support is needed
- Develop positive, respectful relationships with service users, their families and support networks
- Apply care plans, workplace procedures and health and safety requirements
- Keep accurate records and communicate clearly with healthcare teams
Requirements & Eligibility
- Minimum 6 months' experience as a Community Support Worker, Disability Support Worker, Healthcare Assistant, Mental Health Assistant or similar role; previous experience supporting people with complex needs, disabilities or mental health requirements is highly regarded
- Ability to commit to regular shifts with reliable availability, plus flexibility to cover a variety of shifts, including weekends when required
- Ability to meet safe working hour requirements and manage your availability responsibly
- Strong communication skills, a caring, respectful and professional approach, and commitment to high-quality person-centred support
- Ability to stay calm and effective in challenging situations and to work across different community, disability, mental health and healthcare settings
- Full New Zealand Driver's Licence, with confidence driving service vehicles where required
