Telecommunications Field Engineer

An established telecommunications infrastructure contractor, delivering critical network projects across Australia for major carriers, is recruiting an experienced Telecommunications Field Engineer to its Brisbane-based team.

The position suits an engineer who enjoys hands-on technical work in integration, commissioning and network infrastructure. You will contribute to large-scale deployments of national significance, work beside seasoned industry professionals and develop your career with a reputable, verified employer.

Employer sponsorship is available for qualified international candidates. For telecom engineers currently rolling out networks in the UAE, Saudi Arabia or Qatar, this is a considered step towards a long-term career in Australia.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver RF and transmission integration, testing, commissioning and network acceptance on telecommunications infrastructure projects, diagnosing and fixing technical faults as they arise
  • Install, set up and commission antennas, radio and transmission equipment, microwave links, feeders, outdoor cabinets and related network hardware, including during tower upgrades, structural modifications and expansion works
  • Produce commissioning reports, test records and carrier acceptance documentation to the required industry standards
  • Comply with workplace health and safety procedures, permits, risk controls and quality assurance obligations
  • Travel as needed to project sites in metropolitan, regional and remote Australia, collaborating with engineering, project management and field teams to deliver each project successfully

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Proven experience as a Telecommunications Field Engineer with strong RF and transmission integration skills, including commissioning telecommunications equipment and completing carrier acceptance paperwork
  • Current Intermediate or Advanced Rigging qualification, together with current Working at Heights, Elevated Work Platform (EWP) and First Aid certifications
  • Experience on telecommunications towers, structural steel installations or infrastructure upgrades
  • Able to travel extensively throughout Australia, including regional and remote project sites
  • Current driver's licence; further heavy vehicle licences or relevant industry tickets are advantageous
  • Sound understanding of safety, quality and Australian telecommunications industry standards, with excellent troubleshooting, teamwork and communication skills; employer sponsorship is available for suitably qualified overseas applicants who meet Australian migration requirements
