Warehouse Storeperson

A long-standing construction and building supplies business in New South Wales needs an experienced Warehouse Operator to keep its daily warehouse operations running smoothly.

Expect far more than driving a forklift or picking and packing. You will be relied on to handle materials, put together customer orders, keep stock figures accurate, help with deliveries and make sure the site runs safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take charge of daily warehouse priorities, making sure every order is finished accurately and on schedule
  • Drive forklifts safely to receive, store and relocate materials
  • Unload, receive and inspect incoming stock
  • Pick, check and prepare orders for customers
  • Palletise, label, shrink-wrap and secure goods ready for transport, then load them safely onto trucks and other vehicles
  • Arrange products so stock is easy to find and dispatch
  • Deliver construction materials to, and collect them from, local work sites
  • Log movements of relevant warehouse equipment
  • Help track stock and take part in scheduled stocktakes
  • Keep the warehouse tidy, organised and safe
  • Deal professionally with customers, drivers and site personnel
  • Adhere to workplace health and safety procedures

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Hands-on warehouse experience in a previous role
  • Solid, practical experience operating forklifts
  • A current Australian LF forklift licence, or eligibility to obtain the required licence
  • Able to handle materials weighing up to 25kg safely
  • Good customer-service and communication skills
  • Capable of working independently and managing daily priorities, with strong attention to detail and stock accuracy
  • A dependable, responsible attitude to work
  • Background in construction, building supplies, logistics or a related field is advantageous
  • Current HR licence is highly regarded
  • Small truck driving experience is advantageous
  • Willing to combine warehouse duties with local delivery work
  • A clear, demonstrable and verifiable employment history relevant to the position
  • Able to meet Australian employment and, where applicable, visa requirements
