Warehouse Supervisor (2IC)

An Auckland warehouse is seeking a Warehouse Supervisor to act as second in charge, and it is a real leadership opening in New Zealand. The right person brings practical, provable experience in logistics, inventory control, coordinating a team, customer service and running a warehouse day to day.
Expect far more than shifting stock. You will sit at the centre of operations: keeping activity well organised, making sure orders flow efficiently, backing your team and holding safety and accuracy to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities
- Direct the warehouse's daily operations and keep every activity coordinated
- Guide, encourage and support the warehouse team, building accountability, teamwork and a positive culture
- Organise goods receiving, storage, picking, dispatch, deliveries and customer collections
- Oversee incoming shipments, internal stock transfers and the processing of incoming containers along with related warehouse work
- Ensure customer orders are processed correctly and inside required timeframes
- Plan and coordinate delivery and collection schedules
- Watch DIFOT figures and overall customer order performance
- Track stock levels, keep inventory records accurate and make sure warehouse systems always hold current stock information
- Carry out cycle counts and look into any stock discrepancies
- Apply correct stock rotation and store products safely
- Keep the warehouse running efficiently and maintain a clean, orderly site
- Confirm warehouse procedures and standard operating processes are followed, and support compliance requirements and operational certifications
- Champion and monitor health and safety standards across the workplace
- Plan staffing needs, arrange temporary labour support when required and assist the Warehouse Manager with operational planning and staffing
- Help organise servicing and certification for vehicles, machinery and equipment, keeping them and other company property in safe condition
- Finish operational paperwork, timesheets, reports and compliance documentation
- Pinpoint where warehouse processes could improve and bring in practical initiatives that lift efficiency and productivity
- Partner with the wider operations team to enhance the customer experience
Requirements & Eligibility
- Overseas applicants must meet applicable New Zealand employment and visa requirements, and sponsorship is available for the right verified candidate
- Able to supply genuine, verifiable details of past employment and relevant experience
- Demonstrated experience in warehouse supervision, logistics, distribution or supply chain operations
- A history of leading or coordinating warehouse employees, with the ability to motivate and lead a team effectively
- Practical stock control and inventory management knowledge, including experience with inventory or warehouse management systems
- Experience looking after customer orders, dispatch, deliveries or collections, approached with a customer focus
- Understanding of warehouse health and safety procedures
- Confidence working in a hands-on warehouse setting
- Strong time-management and organisational abilities, with the capacity to handle several operational priorities at once
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Strong accuracy and attention to detail, backed by good problem-solving and decision-making
- A proactive eye for operational improvements
- A positive outlook and an eagerness to learn
