Whether you bake in Dubai, Doha or Riyadh today, this Brisbane opening could be a considered next move. A well-established bakery café, still growing, is seeking an experienced Baker for a permanent full-time position of 38 hours per week.
The work spans everyday production and refined finishing: breads, pastries and cakes are all made from scratch on site, and the kitchen designs custom celebration cakes for its clientele.

Key Responsibilities
- Ensure raw ingredients meet quality standards and are precisely weighed for every run
- Craft doughs, batters, cake mixes, pastry and fillings, shaping and portioning them into breads, rolls, cakes and tarts
- Oversee tray and tin preparation, oven loading, temperatures and bake times
- Finish cakes and pastries with icing, cream, chocolate, fondant and sugar paste, and create bespoke celebration cakes to order
- Plan production, then price, package and present products so the café display is complete from opening
- Operate and clean mixers, sheeters, provers and other equipment within food safety, hygiene and WHS standards
- Contribute to recipe and product development and mentor, supervise and train junior bakers and kitchen staff
Requirements & Eligibility
- Certificate III or IV in Baking or Patisserie
- Alternatively, a higher qualification in patisserie or culinary arts
- At least 1 year as a Baker, Pastry Chef or Pastrycook
- Experience gained in a commercial bakery, patisserie or hotel kitchen
- Strong practical pastry skills
- Strong cake production and decorating ability
- Sound knowledge of hygiene and food safety
- Availability for early mornings, weekends and a rotating roster
- Desirable: fondant and custom cake design
- Desirable: team leadership or kitchen supervision
- Desirable: customer-facing bakery or café experience
