For chefs currently leading kitchens in Dubai, Doha or Riyadh, a Sous Chef appointment on the Gold Coast could be a considered next move. The kitchen belongs to a busy café with high daily volumes, and the role forms part of a leadership team alongside the Head Chef and another Sous Chef.
The position calls for a composed professional who can steer demanding services, organise preparation and sections, and protect the quality and consistency of every plate while upholding food safety and hygiene. An accomplished senior chef ready to step into a sous role would also suit.
The employer is willing to consider sponsorship for the right applicant who brings experience in a similar role, with the appointment subject to passing a 6-month probation period.

Key Responsibilities
- Steer the kitchen brigade through demanding, high-volume services
- Collaborate with the Head Chef and Sous Chef on the day-to-day management of the kitchen
- Oversee preparation, section planning and daily operations
- Safeguard consistency, presentation and food quality
- Uphold hygiene, food safety and the kitchen's standards
- Mentor kitchen staff, assume command of the kitchen when needed and foster a positive, professional culture
Requirements & Eligibility
- Considerable experience in a busy, high-volume café or comparable kitchen
- A previous role as Sous Chef, senior chef or supervisor
- Assured in leading a team and running a busy service
- Strong organisational and communication abilities
- Dependable and composed under pressure, with a readiness to take ownership
- A hands-on manner working alongside the team, and a strong understanding of food quality and consistency
- Available 5 days per week, including Saturday and Sunday
