The kitchen belongs to a privately owned café that diners rate very well, with an imaginative morning and midday menu, carefully chosen produce, much of it prepared in-house, and a warm approach to service.
The position is full-time, with shifts largely during daylight hours in a brisk, busy setting where the owners work hands-on themselves. Seniority is open: the café will look at a seasoned Chef, a Senior Cook keen for a bigger role, or someone at Sous Chef or Head Chef level, and your eventual responsibilities will reflect the skills and leadership you bring.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare morning and midday dishes and send them out at a consistently high standard
- Uphold presentation and freshness on every plate
- Oversee mise en place, food safety, cleanliness and stock so the kitchen runs smoothly and efficiently
- Collaborate with colleagues in peak periods and help shape the menu and refine kitchen practices
- Assume leadership, training and kitchen management duties where appropriate
