Key Responsibilities
- Oversee servicing, maintenance and repair of heavy diesel trucks and semi-trailers
- Identify and rectify mechanical, electrical, braking and suspension faults
- Carry out preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing
- Restore air brake systems, axles, wheel bearings, landing legs and other trailer components
- Complete safety inspections to NHVR compliance standards and keep accurate maintenance records and job reports
- Deliver efficient work with a high standard of workmanship
Requirements & Eligibility
- Trade qualification as a Heavy Diesel Mechanic or an equivalent
- Experience with heavy vehicles and trailers
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
- Experience in air brake systems and trailer maintenance
- Equally effective working independently or with a team
- An HC/MC driver's licence would be an advantage
- A strong work ethic
- Commitment to safety
