You would partner the Head Chef - Kitchen Manager in steering the kitchen each day and hold the reins whenever they step away. Expect ownership of costed menus and specials, a budget for food and labour, supplier relationships and a well-trained, well-rostered team.
The appointment is permanent, a minimum of 30 hours weekly across weekends and public holidays. It calls for applicants with New Zealand work rights, and the accredited employer may be able to sponsor a work visa for the right person.

Key Responsibilities
- Steer daily kitchen operations alongside the Head Chef and assume full command in their absence
- Create costed menus and specials that meet the required gross profit
- Recruit, train, roster and manage the performance of the kitchen team below management level
- Manage the budget for cost of goods, wage cost and gross profit
- Oversee ordering, suppliers, stock accuracy and waste, along with food safety, the Food Control Plan and documented systems
Requirements & Eligibility
- Level 5 National Diploma in Hospitality (Kitchen Management)
- A minimum of 3 years managing kitchens at a senior level
- Sound budgeting, costing, organisation and time management
- Outstanding command of local and international food and beverage
- Confidence with IT, cloud-based software, email, Word and Excel
- The right to work in New Zealand
