Key Responsibilities

  • Offer clinical leadership to the care team in partnership with the Clinical Manager, so care is consistently safe, effective and appropriate
  • Conduct thorough needs assessments and translate them into care interventions communicated to colleagues, residents, families and the multidisciplinary team
  • Achieve favourable resident outcomes in keeping with care plans and safe working practices
  • Provide considered, person-centred care that encourages independence and honours dignity and privacy
  • Monitor residents closely, report any change and respond accordingly
  • Champion initiatives that sustain or enhance quality of care and quality of life
  • Advocate for residents in their choices and informed decisions
  • Assemble assessment and care information to complete funding claims
  • Coordinate shift handover with fellow registered nurses, preserving confidentiality, dignity and respect
  • Maintain rigorous medication management, infection control and Work Health and Safety standards, and participate in accreditation audits to remain compliant

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse, which is essential
  • Relevant Registered Nurse experience, preferably in aged care
  • Experience within a multidisciplinary team in an aged care environment
  • Current knowledge of aged care sector issues and the relevant accreditation standards
  • The ability to lead and delegate effectively
  • A record of supporting positive care outcomes
  • Polished written and verbal communication
  • Well-developed problem-solving and organisational skills
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development
  • Competent computer skills, basic to intermediate
