A considered next step for a detailer who knows structural steel inside out. A Perth steel fabrication business is appointing a full-time Tekla Structural Steel Draftsperson / Shop Detailer, and experience within the fabrication industry is expected.
The role is built around Tekla. You would interpret project information, develop the model, and issue fabrication and detail shop drawings, as well as design and draft a variety of steel structures. Clear, composed communication with builders, architects, engineers and the company's own departments is part of the brief.
Work takes place from the Perth office, and remote or freelance arrangements are not on offer. This opportunity is reserved for candidates who are already in Australia with work rights, and only those with a genuine understanding of Tekla will be shortlisted.

Key Responsibilities
- Interpret project information and develop the Tekla model
- Issue fabrication and detail shop drawings from Tekla
- Design and draft a variety of steel structures
- Communicate clearly with builders, architects, engineers and internal departments
Requirements & Eligibility
- 2 years of hands-on Tekla experience is essential
- Construction industry knowledge and/or experience
- Proficient across BIM modelling and documentation
- A collaborative team approach, together with a good understanding of Tekla software (only applicants with this will be shortlisted and contacted)
