A considered next move for a chef who has spent time in Gulf kitchens: a growing tourist park in Port Hedland, Western Australia, is appointing an experienced cook or chef. Whether you currently cook in Dubai, Doha or Riyadh, the qualities sought will be familiar, namely reliability, hard work and a real passion for food done properly.
This is full-time work over 5 or 6 days per week, the pattern settled by agreement. It is a residential appointment, quite different from FIFO, and calls for a willingness to make the town your home. The employer notes that sponsorship opportunities may be available for the right candidate. A pre-employment medical, with drug and alcohol testing, completes the process.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook each meal to an exacting, high standard
- Uphold consistency of quality, portion and presentation across the menu
- Work within food safety, hygiene and cleaning requirements
- Assist in ordering, in stock control and in the rotation of stock
- Keep the kitchen immaculate, safe and well ordered
- Hold food waste to a minimum and support efficient operations
- Operate as a composed member of a busy brigade, assisting with preparation and service as needed
Requirements & Eligibility
- Previous experience in a cook or chef position
- A good understanding of kitchen operations and food safety
- The ability to prepare meals that are high-quality and consistent
- Reliability and the ability to work under pressure
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- A positive attitude and a strong work ethic
- A willingness to live and work locally
- Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery preferred, although relevant experience may be considered instead of formal qualifications, and a Food Safety Certificate preferred
- A pre-employment medical, including a drug and alcohol test
